Stage 5: The Gozo salt pans

Stage 5 of the long-distance hike is a half-day hike and runs along the northern coast of Gozo. The hike is quite lonely in the first part, shortly before the stage destination Marsalforn it gets busier. Here you can find countless salt pans in the most varied of shapes and forms, which are connected to one another by small channels. In the summer half of the year, salt is sometimes still extracted from seawater here.

Tip: Since stage 5 only requires the morning, there is nothing to be said against a more extensive lunch shortly before the end of the stage: the restaurant Qbajjar is highly recommended - the dessert menu is particularly worth seeing (Link: qbajjarrestaurant.com)
