Coastal walk Malta-Gozo: stage 6

The sixth and last stage of the long-distance hike leads from Marsalforn back to the Gozo ferry terminal. This hiking stage has almost no spectacular cliffs, instead the path leads past Gozo's largest bathing bay (Ramla Bay). From the bathing bay it goes uphill to the "Tal-Mixta Cave", a rock cave that is said to have been where Odysseus - the hero of Greek mythology - lived for seven years.

In the further course of the path it goes a bit inland, then down to a bay with fishermen's huts carved into the rock and from there uphill and inland. Shortly before Qala the "Gozo Coastal Path" actually turns left and leads around the town. Since there are some nice restaurants in the main square in Qala, a detour to the town center is recommended for lunch. There is no hurry at this point anyway, the last part of stage 6 is most beautiful in the late afternoon sun:

Because of the great view of Comino and Malta, it is also recommended to spend the night in Qala at the end of stage 6. To do this, stage 6 does not end completely, but turns right at waypoint 10 (see  Accommodation in Qala)
