Praia dos Salgados beach is located approximately in the middle between Albufeira and Armação de Pêra and is atypically flat for the Algarve: the rather lonely sandy beach is characterized by dunes and the nearby Salgados lagoon. Wooden walkways lead to bird observation stations and the hotels and apartments that are a few hundred meters away from the coast.
If you are traveling in the low season (November to April), you can benefit from very cheap accommodation prices here. That's why I treated myself to the 5-star Hotel Vidamar Algarve on my hike (Link: Vidamar Algarve). I really liked the spacious rooms with the somewhat extravagant bathroom design.
