The Corfu trail starts relatively flat in the south, the first 50 km do almost no difference in altitude. Only from Paramonas it gets a bit hilly. The highest point on our tour is reached after 69 km at the radar station that is visible from afar (just over 500 meters above sea level).
In the northern part, the Corfu Trail runs along the west coast of the island. It is a bit more hilly there than in the south of the island, so that when hiking from bay to bay, a little more altitude difference has to be overcome.
It is not really mountainous on the Corfu Trail. The only exception: If you feel like it, you can climb the pantocrator after the tour shown here. The Pantokrator is the highest mountain in Corfu at around 900 meters. However, we omitted this on our tour, as it is located in the very east of the island and is poorly connected to the rest of the Corfu Trail in terms of hiking and overnight accommodation.
The height profile shown here corresponds to the part of the Corfu Trail that we hiked. This begins in the very south, ends in the northwest of the island and covers approximately 2/3 of the official Corfu trail. See also Map.
3D preview of the long-distance hike
The entire long-distance hike is available in a three-dimensional view at Ayvri.com. This can be very helpful when planning a long-distance hike. The preview is interactive: the camera perspective can be adjusted at any time using drag & drop. The speed of the preview can also be set variably.

Hi
Thank you for this detailed documentation of the Corfu trail. That really makes you want to hike it.
My wife and I plan to do this in May. I hope that it works and that the stupid virus doesn’t thwart our plans.
Incidentally, I think the 3D hiking animation is very successful.
