Pic du Cap Roux / Massif de l'Esterel

The starting point of this attractive 5-hour hike is the train station of Gare d'Anthéor-Cap-Rouxe, which is reached approximately once an hour (1 minutes from Cannes).

From the train station it goes up stairs to the higher street and from there after a few bends into nature relatively quickly. After about 5 km we reach the Pic du Cap Roux (454m), the most popular peak of the Massif de l'Esterel among hikers. The striking red rocks of the massif are nowhere near so close to the sea and therefore so impressive.

From the Pic du Cap Roux it goes down again - interrupted by a short ascent to the Pic d'Aurelle (323m) - to the Le Trayas train station. From here there is a connection towards Cannes.

Tip: There is a small bay for swimming in the immediate vicinity of the Le Trayas train station: At Plage de Maupas, you can easily bridge the waiting time for the train (Google Maps: Beach of Maupas).
