The Cinque Terre Card

Cinque Terre Card

The Cinque Terre Card ("Trekking Card" or "Treno Card")

In the stretch of coast between Monterosso al Mare and Riomaggiore, hikers need an entrance ticket - the so-called "Cinque Terre Card". These are available in two versions:

  • Cinque Terre Treno Card: Hiking + train rides between the five villages - price for adults € 16,00 per day (as of 2021)
  • Cinque Terre Trekking Card: Hiking (without train ride) - price for adults € 7,50 per day (as of 2021)

For our long-distance hike, the "Trekking Card" is required on stage 5, the "Treno Card" is mainly aimed at day trippers.

Cinque Terre entrance ticket - three options

The "Cinque Terre Card" can be purchased in three different ways:

Tip for long-distance hikers: At the end of stage 4 you will pass the Monterosso al Mare train station - there is one of the sales points for the Cinque Terre Card, which you can then easily purchase for the following day (link: http://www.parconazionale5terre.it/Ecentri-visita-dettaglio.php?id=527).

    Dear Frank,
your hiking sites are top class!
I would like to hike the Cinque Terre with a friend at the beginning of December, have you already done that at this time of the year and can you tell me something about the weather (difficult, I know :-))? Or even more important, as is the case with accommodation at the stage destinations in the off-season?
    Warm wishes,
    Deike

      Hello Deike!
My tip for December: definitely pack your bathing suit :-) But seriously: I can't say much about the weather in December. I myself like to use the following travel planner: https://www.wetteronline.de/reiseplaner/genua. Accordingly, you should be prepared for rather cool and humid weather. In my opinion, accommodations are sufficiently open - with a little planning in advance, that shouldn't be a problem.
      Regards
      Frank

Good morning Frank, Thank you for your detailed tour description. My friend and I would like to
I'm going on a tour in September. I've always wanted to go to the Cinque Terre, and this tour is perfect.
I've already reserved my room. You wrote that it's best to park at the end of the road.
Do you happen to have any idea where? And how we can get to the first stage. Are the train stations easy to find?
Thank you in advance and kind regards, Konni

      Hello Konni,

I don't have any really good or validated tips for parking – I discussed it with Lisa here: https://www.wanderndeluxe.de/cinque-terre-ligurien-erfahrungsberichte-und-fragen/#comment-14758. But I've just done some more research and this provider might be a good fit: https://parcheggiosangiorgio.it/I couldn't find any prices, as they depend on the exact date and the size of the car. So, if you're interested, you might want to check with them (language doesn't matter; they have AI translation tools to help you...). Mr. Enrico – the operator – has pretty good reviews on Google. You drop off your car and keys there, and the car may be moved several times during the parking time due to space constraints. So, it's a very smart service that makes the most of the available space.
Feel free to tell us about your experiences!
And yes: the train stations are easy to find.
      Regards
      Frank
