Wine hiking in Piedmont: stage 3

Long distance hike Piedmont from winery to winery stage 3 13

Map for stage 3

From Barbaresco to Treiso

The third stage of our long-distance hike is the shortest hike of the tour at just under 12km and can easily be done as a half-day hike.

The hiking trail leads through the vineyards of the Barbaresco cultivation area, first down into the valley to a disused railway line and then uphill on the opposite side of the hill. Several times we encounter oversized wooden benches, an idea of the big bench community project (see waypoint 3).

After we have walked through another valley and mastered a rather steep climb, the path leads along a ridge to Treiso.

Notes on routing
