Wine hiking in Piedmont: stage 5

The fifth stage of our long-distance hike leads from Diano d'Alba to La Morra. We cross Barolo area, from which some of the best known and most expensive wines in Italy come.

The first stop on the hike is Castiglione Falletto, a small but lively place with a striking tower and several places to stop. After a 10km hike - around lunchtime - we reach Barolo.

The Barolo growing area comprises several municipalities around the town of Barolo, only a small part of the entire Barolo production comes from the municipality of Barolo itself. Nevertheless, the place has become the center of wine tourism. In Barolo you will therefore find numerous wine bars, restaurants and a wine museum.
